lit answer keysAnother Kind of Answer Key We understand that it is easy for the study of a piece of literature to overshadow the story itself. With this in mind, our goal is to lead the reader through each piece of literature in a way that plumbs its depths while keeping its intrinsic value intact. What if, as a teacher, you were free to explore great stories right along with your students? Blackbird & Company Integrated Literature and Writing Discovery Guides have been designed with this goal in mind. Our Discovery Method™ helps students develop an integrated tradition of reading and writing. As they engage in the consistency of paced exercises, students will confidently respond to textual structures and practice the mechanical tasks that enable them to read deeply, write well, and to bring shape to their original ideas. When the program is utilized longitudinally, students will develop habits of being that permit them to discover the rich and diverse potential of story while engaging in an increasingly challenging content. Over the course of the school year, your students will read closely and respond in depth to seven books. Because our program is an integrated approach to literary analysis and writing, the majority of Common Core English Language Arts Standards will be met and surpassed as you empower your students to be mentored by great stories. Recollect - Responding to Comprehension Questions Recollect - Comprehension Answers Comprehension questions are organized chronologically, providing an opportunity to teach your students to use the questions as a pre-reading exercise. Train them to watch for story details as they read. Next, have them make note of page numbers where the answers are found, this will help them to build the strategy of slowing down to attend to details in a book. Lastly, encourage your students to respond to each comprehension question with a complete sentence. Formulating a complete written response is far superior than responding to multiple choice comprehension questions. Select links below for comprehension question page numbers. Level 1
